I architect and develop Drupal platforms that turn complex information into manageable, connected digital experiences. My work combines content management system (CMS) development, information architecture, custom functionality, and enterprise integration to support organizations with substantial publishing and application requirements.

Drupal is a central part of my experience as a software engineer, cloud architect, and technology leader. I use its extensible framework to build websites, reference platforms, and web applications in which content, permissions, workflows, and integrations work together as a coherent system.

Drupal Architecture and Development

I begin with the relationships between information, users, and organizational responsibilities. Those requirements guide decisions about entities, fields, taxonomies, access controls, and application behavior.

My experience includes Drupal 11, reusable distributions, custom development, theming, and configuration management. I combine established modules with purpose-built functionality according to the requirements and maintenance responsibilities of each project.

Areas of focus include:

  • Drupal site building and development: Implementing content structures, application functionality, administrative interfaces, and custom modules.
  • Content modeling and taxonomy: Defining entities, fields, vocabularies, and relationships that support consistent publishing, retrieval, and reuse.
  • Views and information discovery: Creating contextual listings, filters, and displays that help users navigate substantial content collections.
  • Webforms and data collection: Developing structured submissions and connecting collected information with organizational workflows.
  • Permissions and publishing workflows: Configuring roles, access boundaries, content moderation, and editorial responsibilities.
  • Multidomain and group-based platforms: Supporting shared functionality alongside distinct audiences, organizational spaces, and administrative control.
  • Theming and component development: Building responsive presentation layers using Drupal themes and Single Directory Components (SDC).
  • API and AI integration: Connecting Drupal with external services, language models, search tools, and knowledge retrieval systems.

Structured Content as a Platform Foundation

I treat content architecture as an application design discipline. Information should have a defined structure, meaningful relationships, and a clear role within the platform.

This approach allows content to support multiple uses: public pages, filtered directories, geographic navigation, reference collections, and connected applications. It also gives editors predictable ways to create and maintain information without repeatedly reconstructing its presentation.

My work with platforms such as the Brady List and Quantum Dictionary informs this perspective. Complex subject matter requires careful distinctions between content types, classifications, sources, and contextual relationships. Those decisions influence both the user experience and the platform’s capacity to evolve.

Reusable Distributions and Multidomain Architecture

I develop reusable Drupal foundations that anticipate recurring requirements while allowing individual implementations to retain their purpose. Quantum and MasterBlaster reflect this approach to platform development and structured content delivery.

Quantum supports the organization of multiple digital experiences within a shared Drupal foundation. MasterBlaster addresses the delivery of structured content across geographic contexts. Both draw on deliberate relationships between content, taxonomy, configuration, and presentation.

Shared platforms also require clear boundaries between code, configuration, content, and access. I account for those boundaries when planning updates, extending functionality, and supporting multiple domains or organizational groups.

Editorial Experience and Information Access

A CMS must serve the people who maintain it as effectively as those who visit it. I design administrative workflows around the information editors need to provide, the decisions they are authorized to make, and the review required before publication.

For users, I focus on clear navigation, relevant search and filtering, readable presentation, and responsive behavior. Accessibility, semantic markup, metadata, and internal linking form part of the development process.

These considerations connect editorial efficiency with information quality. Consistent content structures make publishing more manageable and help both people and automated systems interpret the resulting pages.

Integration, Performance, and Operations

My Drupal work extends into the infrastructure and services required to operate the platform. I connect application development with version control, deployment workflows, caching, dependency management, and ongoing maintenance.

My experience includes Acquia and Pantheon, alongside broader cloud architecture work. I consider hosting capabilities, environment separation, database operations, and external dependencies when planning implementation and updates.

I also integrate Drupal with AI services and retrieval systems, using structured content and permissions as part of the application foundation. The objective is to extend the platform’s usefulness while preserving clear operational responsibilities.

Development and Technical Leadership

I contribute as a Drupal developer, platform architect, technical lead, and advisor. My work includes new implementations, reusable distributions, platform improvements, integrations, and continued development of established systems.

I welcome employment, consulting, and project partnerships involving Drupal and enterprise content management. My strongest contribution is connecting information architecture, application functionality, and cloud operations into a platform that organizations can administer and sustain.
